Western Australia opens Permanent Residency doors for Skilled Workers in over 300 occupations.
Western Australia has announced that it will accept applications from overseas skilled migrants under the 2022-23 migration program, with a number of occupations available in the Graduate stream increasing to just over 330.
As a part of the State Government’s $195 million Reconnect WA strategy, an additional 194 occupations have been added to the Graduate Occupation List, making the total number of listed occupations to 331 and attracting more international students to study in WA. This expansion will also help draw a broad and diverse range of skills that align with the State’s current and future workforce needs.
The program year will give access to a more extensive Graduate Occupation List and these changes will simultaneously support the international education sector adding to WA’s pipeline of skilled workers in priority areas. The Skilled Migration pathway will also provide International Students graduating in WA with an option to apply for Permanent Residence.
Invitations to apply for state nomination will be through the ranking system while giving preference to applicants currently residing in the state, followed by those living in Australia and then to the overseas applicants.
