Processing Priorities
Skilled visa applications are processed in the following order of priority.
Priority Level | Description |
---|---|
1 | Employer-sponsored visas for occupations in designated regional areas. |
2 | Visa applications for healthcare or teaching occupations. |
3 | Employer-sponsored visas for applicants nominated by an Approved sponsor with Accredited Status. |
4 | Permanent and provisional visa subclasses contributing to the migration program (excluding Subclass 188). |
5 | All other skilled visa applications. |
1. Employer-sponsored visas for occupations in designated regional areas
- For employer sponsored visas, visa applications in relation to an occupation to be carried out in a designated regional area.
- The following employer sponsored visas are included in the top priority where an occupation is to be carried out in a designated regional area:
- Subclass 186 Employer Nomination Scheme visa
- Subclass 187 Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme visa
- Subclass 482 Temporary Skill Shortage visa
- Subclass 494 Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa

This direction is for skilled visa processing priorities and does not apply to SC407. However, we have noticed increased speed in DHA’s timeframe for all visa applications in general.
