In line with the Australian Government’s ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity of the skilled migration program and protect migrant workers, a new legislative instrument — Migration (IMMI 18/033) Amendment (Annual TSMIT Increase) Instrument 2025 — has been introduced.
Effective 1 July 2025, the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) will rise from $73,150 to $76,515. This 4.6% increase is based on the rise in the Average Weekly Ordinary Time Earnings (AWOTE) as reported by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

📌 What is TSMIT?
The TSMIT is the minimum salary threshold that must be met when nominating a worker under certain employer-sponsored visa programs. It ensures that temporary skilled migrants receive fair pay aligned with the local labour market and are not undercutting or being underpaid compared to Australian workers.
