The Three Streams of the SID Visa

• Designed for professionals earning over $135,000 annually.
• Open to most ANZSCO occupations, except those in trade, machinery operation, and labor categories.

• Continues the TSS visa’s provisions for employer-negotiated agreements.

Key Features and Benefits of the SID Visa

📌 Lower Work Experience Requirement:

Applicants now need just one year of work experience within the past five years, a reduction from the previous two-year standard.

📌 Enhanced Pathways to Permanent Residency:

SID visa holders in any stream can transition to permanent residency through the Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186) visa.

📌 Greater Flexibility:

• SID visa holders have up to 180 days per break (and a total of 365 days) to find new employment or apply for alternative visas.
• Income thresholds and occupation requirements enable smoother transitions between employers.

📌 Annual Updates to Income Thresholds:

Specialist and core skills income thresholds will be indexed yearly, reflecting current economic trends.

The SID visa fees align with the current TSS visa charges:

• Additional applicant (18+): $3,115
• Additional applicant (under 18): $780
