Victoria Launches 2024-25 Skilled Visa Nomination Program
Victoria officially opens the application process in its Skilled Visa Nomination program for the period 2024-25 which opens up more opportunities for skilled professionals both in and outside of Victoria.
These nominations come for two major categories of visas, namely:
- Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190): This permanent residence visa allows one to live and work anywhere in Victoria.
- Subclass 491 Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa: This is a provisional visa that is valid for 5 years and leads to permanent residency after living and working in a regional area of Victoria for at least 3 years.
Application Process:
For consideration for a nomination under this program, you first need to submit or update your Expression of Interest (EOI) with the Australian Government’s SkillSelect system. You then need to submit a Registration of Interest (ROI) to Victoria.
Program Allocation:
Victoria has been given a total allocation of 5,000 skilled visa nomination places for the 2024-25 period by the Australian Government. These places will be divided as follows:
- Skilled Nominated Visa (SC 190): 3,000 places
- Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (SC 491) : 2,000 places
